Today, 05/14/24 is a scheduled PeakRewards preseason test event.

A preseason cycling event has been activated to test our PeakRewards system operations and customer communications. To minimize potential customer inconvenience, the event will occur between 11 am and 1 pm. You will not be able to override participation in this cycling event.

If you are enrolled in the PeakRewards Air Conditioning program, your air conditioner will be cycled up to your full cycling level (50%, 75%, or 100%) for the duration of the event.

BGE’s PeakRewardsSM and Connected RewardsSM programs are designed to manage customer use of electricity in response to periods of very high electricity demand and/or pricing. Reducing energy use at critical times benefits you, the community and the environment.

By effectively managing your electric demand, you are helping to avoid building new power plants to meet the growing demand and keeping the price of electricity lower than it otherwise would be.

PeakRewards

PeakRewards members receive bill credits for allowing BGE to cycle their air conditioning on and off during periods of peak electric demand. Currently, PeakRewards is not accepting new enrollees

Connected Rewards

Connected Rewards participants receive an annual $50 prepaid card in addition to a one-time $50 sign-up bonus for allowing BGE to adjust their thermostat by 4 degrees during periods of peak electric demand.
